چکیده
This paper proposes a new method to build probabilistic fire demand model (PFDM) investigate the structural behaviour of steel pipe-rack located within an industrial installation and exposed localised fire. The PFDM will serve develop fragility functions be used either in risk assessment or fully engineering (PSFE) framework. cloud analysis (CA) was exploited based on different parameters (EDP) – intensity measures (IM) pairs. In particular, applied prototype integrating plant Italy. order cover wide range plausible scenarios introduce uncertainties model, 539 were examined by varying diameter, fire-structure distance fuel. selection diameters parametric analyses quantifying liquid flow through orifices pipes. thermal impact pool fires structure analysed using LOCAFI thermo-mechanical response pipe rack evaluated means finite element analysis. Based outcomes, it found that interstorey drift ratio (ISDR) maximum average heat flux impinging (HFavg) EDP-IM pair most efficient also characterised highest relative sufficiency among other Moreover, has noted for this type case study, CA revealed viable option PFDM.

متن کاملJet Fires: a “Minor” Fire Hazard?
Jet fires have received only a rather reduced attention as compared to other types of fires; this is probably due to the fact that they are usually much smaller that fireballs, pool fires or tank fires. However, jet fires often occur in areas where there is other equipment and the probability of flames impinging on a pipe or a vessel can be high. Furthermore, due to the turbulence of the phenom...
متن کاملStainless steel structures in fire
The initial material cost of structural stainless steel is about four times that of structural carbon steel, due largely to the expense of the alloying elements and the relatively low volume of production. Given broadly similar structural performance, additional areas of benefit need to be identified and exploited in order to establish stainless steel as a viable alternative material for constr...
متن کاملEnvironmental Assessment of Fires in Products Using the Fire-LCA Model
The environmental impact of products has been increasingly discussed in recent years. In response to questions of the environmental appropriateness of, for example, technologies used to attain a high level of fire safety, a model has been developed to quantify the emissions from fires and include this into a holistic treatment of the environmental impact of a product from the cradle to the grav...
